Why Infiniti is a failing company

The car industry is an ever-changing world of new technologies and designs meant to keep car-buyers wanting the newest vehicle that they can afford. If an automaker does not hold the buyer captivated with the latest technologies, then the buyer won't desire the automaker's latest vehicle. Infiniti is falling behind many automakers, especially in interior technology and design. If Infiniti is a luxury automaker, then they should strive to compete with other luxury automakers, at the very least, Lexus. Although the build quality is excellent inside any Infiniti, the designs have not been changed in any major way in the last 10 years. To put it simply, Infiniti vehicles are growing outdated by the minute. Infiniti has not overhauled their interior or exterior designs with a genuinely brand new car except the introduction of the QX30, which completely flopped and was discontinued. Compared to Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac, and Lexus, Infiniti stands below all of them in technology and overall advancements in design. Mercedes, Cadillac, and BMW just released the new generation of their top of the line full-size SUV's all with stunning and unique interior and exterior designs. These new generations proceeded generations that lasted only about 5 to 7 years, while Infiniti hasn't released a new generation of its QX80 full-size SUV in over 9 years with the current generation having been released in 2011. Apple Carplay, which is a crucial feature for many vehicles, wasn't even added to the Infiniti QX80 until this model year. Carplay has been around since 2014, and Infiniti only put this technology in its cars 6 years later. This just shows how far behind Infiniti is compared to other major manufacturers. Nissan had Apple Carplay before Infiniti did. That just makes absolutely no sense at all. A budget automaker, Nissan, had it before its luxury department even had it. 

If you didn't know, Infiniti is owned by Nissan, which has the same problem with not releasing new generations until it's in dire need of one. For example, the Nissan 370z, released in 2009, and the Nissan R35 GTR, released in 2008, have not seen a new generation since their generation was released. Nissan has attempted to keep both of the cars alive with increases in horsepower and technology, etc., but they have waited too long. Thankfully they are releasing a new Z car in the coming year, speculated to be called the 400Z, but there are no apparent rumors about the GTR. Nissan did see an awful year in 2019 with a significant decline in sales, and Infiniti also pulled out of Western Europe for the foreseeable future. So, does Infiniti even have enough funds to build a whole new platform for all 5 of their vehicles, or will they continue to try and refresh their current lineup as many years they can? The company itself is holding onto the market by a thread, and if Nissan and Infiniti do not change their strategy anytime soon, they are headed for the ground.
